  • Started new positopn as Junior HPC workflows engineer. Barcelona. Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). Jan 2023 - Now. What I did: Develop the workflow of the Climate digital twin in the framework of Destination Earth. Specifically building the interface from the workflow to the users. What I learnt: How to work in an interdisciplinary environment with partners from different European research centers. Technical skills: HPC workflows orchestration, Autosubmit, Git. Several poster presentations regarding streaming and renewable energy.
  • Presented MSc Thesis: “Toward ice-free Pyrenees: the case of Aneto glacier”

  • 6th OGGM workshop Finse, Norway. Sep 2022. Presentation of my contribution to OGGM and my master thesis.

2021

  • Research assistant, Innsbruck, University of Innsbruck Nov 2021 - Jan 2023. What I did: Helping with the update of the Randolph Glacier Inventory glacier database RGI7. Creating a python project to detect glacier flowlines based on OGGM glacier model. What I learnt: glacier flowline calculation. Technical skills: python, geodata in python, object oriented programing, how does an open-source project work.

  • Started MSc in Atmospheric sciences in University of Innsbruck (2020-2022)
  • IPSL Virtual Summer School-Climate Change Online IPSL July 2020. Challenges and Issues for the Earth Sciences. The program included - Scientific webinars and online discussions on climate change observation, modelling and the consequences for humanity and biodiversity.

2019

  • Climate services: Subseasonal to Seasonal forecasting (S2S) Barcelona Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). July 2019 - Sep 2020. What I did: Development of a tailored seasonal and subseasonal product for a company in the retail sector. What I learnt: Subseasonal to Seasonal (S2S) forecast verification. I learned how to work in group and due to the pandemics also how to work remotely in a highly demanding environment. Project and time management. Technical skills: R (s2dv, s2dverification, CSTools), git, HPC, gridded meteorological data, work in a cluster, project management. Resulted in a scientific comunication.
  • BSc final thesis ”Analysis of a first approximation to radar-based precipitation climatology over a highly contrasted land use region” (Excellent).
  • Alpinism basic course.

  • I became member of APECS Spain.
  • Organization staff Barcelona. University of Barcelona. April 2018. I participated in the organization of the 13th and 14th ”Fira d’empreses”, that took place at the faculty of physics of the university of Barcelona.
  • Intern: Natural Hazards analysis. University of Barcelona July 2018 - March 2019. I collaborated with the GAMA team. We studied extreme meteorological events in the Mediterranean coast.(Grup d’Anàlisi de situacions Meteorològiques Adverses). In this group we studied extreme meteorological events such as floods, forest fires or severe storms. Specifically, I was in charge of the analysis of precipitation intensity.
  • Remote sensing team Barcelona Meteorological service of Catalonia (Meteocat). September 2018 - September 2019. What I did: I worked on the verification of a fog detection product based on satellite images, in-situ data and webcams. I was also in charge of the remote systems quality check (radar net, lightning net and Barcelona radiosounding). What I learnt: how does a radiosonde, radar and lightning detection net work. How a real weather forecast agency works. Technical skills: geodata in R, R-language, basic html. Resulted in my bachelor thesis about radar-based precipitation climatology and a scientific comunication.

2017

  • I became member of the Catalan Society of Meteorology (ACAM), since 2017.

  • Skituring course imparted by FEEC. March 2017.
  • 10th HyMeX Workshop Barcelona. Organization staff July 2017. I participated in the organization of the 10th HyMeX Workshop, at the University of Barcelona that took place at the physics faculty of the university of Barcelona during the fist week of July.
  • Research collaboration: analysis of cloudiness. University of Girona, Atmosphere Physics team June–July 2017. I was enrolled at the atmosphere physics team from the University of Girona. I was in charge of the study of the transition zone between cloud and clear sky using ceilometer data and hemispherical sky images.

2016

  • Assisted to XXIII Jornades Fontserè.
  • Scholarship: Shelios 2016c expedition Canary Islands-Greenland-Iceland. Research scholarship July–August 2016. Scholarship from Stars4all UE project, cordinated by the Canary Islands Institute of Astrophysics (IAC). The main goals were to study aurora borealis, as well as to improve entrepreneurial skills. Students were in charge of night observations, social media and daily reports about the expedition. Also few days were spent at Teide Observatory in the” cazasteroides” IAC project.

  • Young research awards (2014) ’Nature gives us the sun and we take advantage of it’ Prize awarded by the Economy and knowledge department of the Catalonia government. (1000e)Project in which solar radiance is studied and used to reduce high school heating cost
  • Got driving license (Category B).
  • Solidarimagia. Dominican Republic. Sound technician. I spent ten days working as sound technician in the ”solidarimagia” solidarity project.
